Turn data challenges into practical outcomes

UTM Big Data Centre works with public agencies, industry and universities on consultation, AI and data solutions, software development and joint research. Start with the problem you need to solve. We match it to the right BDC expertise.

Independent, research-backed advice for data and AI decisions

BDC fellows advise organisations on data strategy, big data adoption, AI readiness and governance, and run diagnostic analysis on organisational data.

What we advise on
  • Big data adoption and data strategy, built on BDC's own ADiBA framework (Accelerating Digital Transformation Through Big Data Adoption).
  • Public-sector data policy: BDC facilitators have supported the refinement of public-sector big data guidelines (MAMPU, 2023) and the DSRA implementation kit (JDN, 2024).
  • AI readiness, governance and risk: who is accountable for AI-assisted decisions, and what controls are needed.
  • Institutional data blueprints, such as the UTM Data-Driven Blueprint handed to the UTM Registrar in June 2023.
  • Forensic and diagnostic analytics, for example identifying losses of public funds with Python for an internal audit unit.
